What's Up With the Huntleys?

I have been remiss in posting lately. In a marathon of room redecorating, we completely redid all four of our bedrooms.

Zach's room we created in the basement, so we started from scratch on that one. He wanted orange walls which look awesome, he has a custom fitted bed with huge drawers underneath for his plethora of stuff, lots of custom made shelving on the walls and a built in 5-foot-long desk.

Then we fixed up his old room for Trey. That room already had all the built in custom-made bed and shelving. We just put new shelves in the closet which work better for a little boy and pulled out the carpet to put down laminate flooring.

Then we started on Lexi's room that she had previously shared with Trey but now shares with Leah. We gutted that room because it had old paneling and a nasty ceiling. Once again, custom built bunk beds, shelves and even a dresser! Dave astounds me with his skills and sometimes, I even think he surprises himself:) Their room is pink and black and super cute. I haven't gotten bedspreads for that room yet, but they haven't complained, they love their room!
Then it was on to our room. There is a small room connected to ours that Leah used to sleep in. We made it into a dressing room for us and put our dressers in there so we have a bit more space in our room. More space for...a scrapbook desk for me! A ten-foot-long desk! (With a four foot dog leg to the left:) It's totally awesome and just what I've always wanted.

The whole process took us 2 and half months and boy are we happy to be done. We have done enough cutting, sanding, gluing, drywalling, carrying, moving, lifting, building, priming and PAINTING to last a lifetime. Okay maybe 2 lifetimes on the painting part. So happy to be done!!

We've kind of settled into a routine for summer. Dave and Zach are both working for a friend from church who builds houses. It's right up Dave's alley and we feel blessed that he has this opportunity for a job this summer. Zach kind of fell into it with him when the boss offhandedly asked if he wanted to bring a helper along. He's a great worker and this is a great chance for him to learn alot of skills.

Zach went to Pine Lake Camp last week, Trey goes next week and Lexi goes the next week. They all love camp and are excited.

That's enough for now. Next up, another adventure race!
