Trey has a freaky tooth thing going on. The dentist said his tooth bud formed in the wrong place so he has a tooth hanging in the roof of his mouth. You can see his bottom teeth are in front of that tooth forming a cross bite. If he got knocked in the mouth, this tooth is in a dangerous place.
She said if it had happened on the bottom, his tongue would have pushed it forward but since it's on the top, he has to have braces.
And I think he looks so cute:)
So he got them today.

Not Second After All
As I said in my last post, Dave , Mic and I did really well in our adventure race over the weekend. After we finished, the race director thought we might be in second place.
But he was wrong. When Dave checked the results tonight, we were actually in fifth place. But all the teams in front us were 2 person teams. And we were a three person team.
Which means that WE WON! We were the first place team in our division. Again!
Neither of us is really sure how this has happened. It sure is surprising. But I do know one thing.
We are winners! Yay!

Last Week of School!!
I can't believe we are already at the last week of school!
I have 5 days of school left with 3 picnics.
The kids and Dave have 4 days left plus an inservice day for Dave.
Trey has his end of the year picnic.
Alexis and Trey each have their school skating trips.
Zach has tests and his last 2 PT appointments. Plus his check up in Iowa City-hopefully his last for his knee!
Zach is also on the search team at church for our new youth pastor which meets every week. We are impressed by this and thankful that he was asked to do this.
Not to mention 4 ball games, a dentist appointment for Trey and all the other normal things we do in a week:)
I would also be remiss if I didn't mention the awesome adventure race Dave and I did this last weekend. It was 12 hours of biking, canoeing, more biking and then 6 hours of walking. Yes, 6. Hours of walking. Up and down steep hills and through thick brush.
But we finished and we think we got 2nd place out of 16 teams!

I love this guy:)

Salad
Zach's last orchestra concert was tonight. There was a potluck, awards and then the concert. We were supposed to take a meat dish and a salad (which I learned at 4:45 today) so we ran to Hy-Vee and I grabbed some chicken and the ingredients for Ceasar salad. You may remember my surprise that my family even liked Ceasar salad so it may seem wierd but that's what I decided to take.
Well let me just say that I was surprised again! I filled my Tupperware That's A Bowl with salad and it was gone! A bunch of high schoolers and their parents ate my salad! It makes me so happy:)
Oh, and the concert was really good too:) Zach is an amazing bass player.

Who Woulda Thunk?
I had a revelation.
For some reason I thought that ceasar salad was so hard to make. But it isn't. In fact, it seems too simple.
I was in charge of the volunteer brunch for MOPS yesterday. With Myia's help, we came up with the menu. Chicken salad from Sam's. Croissants. Fruit kabobs and a salad. And the cheesecake sample box from Sam's. Yummy! So Myia told how easy it was to make ceasar salad but she doesn't have a Sam's membership, so do I mind making it? Umm, well ok. So here I am at Sam's, wandering around, texting her to find out ingredients and ultimately calling my mom because 4 ingredients sounds too simple right? There are probably fancier versions, I'm admitting that, but I only put four things in it and it was awesome! Romaine lettuce, grated parmesan, croutons and ceasar dressing.

And here's the who woulda thunk part. My family likes it! I'm not sure why but I am super surprised. Most surprising to me is that Alexis likes it. She's not really a fan of salad usually but she even made it for her lunch today! She cracks me up.
